We are drawn to the aura of disused factories, abandoned civil defense facilities and otherutopian non-places. The temporality of such locations and their potential to evoke lonelinessinspire us. We examine these abandoned locations for their capacity to capture and store time. We see these places as unloved memorials for things faded, things that have long ceased toexist. Abandoned places provide us with the silence and time to think about the present, toremember or imagine the past, and to envision a future.
With each performance we go in search of man-built, persistently untouched places andthereby create an associative archive of such locations. All these venues might be lost tohuman needs. But under the thick coat of dust, insects rejoice in living, plants defeat concretefloors and spiders create ingenious artifacts of the future. Despite the filth, there is beauty in decay.
